In addition to eating regularly and sleeping adequately, I recommend walking 10,000 steps per day (ideally with direct sun exposure) and lifting several times a week. Hugging your child and spouse are awesome too. Plus Substack of course. That's all the therapy I need.

A lot of what my psychiatrist pushed amounted to kinds of deprogramming (especially of eg Romanticism) + instilling a focus on those sorts of things!

Whoa whoa whoa, washing?! Now you’ve gone too far; my traditional lifestyle will not yield to this hygiene theater!!! (It truly is astounding how much stable routines of what is now called “self care” matter).

I can and will (and easily!) help preserve snd protect this highly accurate image. I read a claim once that knowledge-based phenomena would be more stably similar across the multiverse than random / non-knowledge based phenomena, so you kind of really might be?!

Love these shorts! The anthropomorphication of the organs could be a Pixar movie! The therapy takedown could be a Fox News show! Your father’s art could have its own Patreon! I love the richness you squeeze out of life in your writing. It makes every detail worth paying attention to.
