I legitimately think Steamed Hams is one of the best comedy skits of all time. Not just the best Simpsons skits, the best overall of all time. It's up there with "Who's on first"
Brilliant! On Simpsons and well beyond Creating The alternative choices --this 9 or perhaps this 9?-- captures what happens to the (most caring) professorial syllabus-creators (this August and always)....
Hi David. 👋 I just thoroughly reread this post and my goodness am I in for quite the Simpsons education ahead. I really appreciate the details / depth / layers that you’ve offered here, and just such a unique discovery roadmap of sorts that you have organized/presented. Thank you for writing and sharing all of these fantastic insights (this show clearly has meant and means so much to you, as it does to @d.w. and it is interesting for me to see the potential overlap and slight divergence of favorites etc.). I look forward to the slowly unfolding watching/learning/laughing journey ahead. 🙏🤓
Both yours and D.W.’s lists are great, but they’re both lacking my favorite episode, the one with the most quotable lines per minute, “Bart Sells His Soul.”
This wrecked me. Thanks for reminding me to rewatch A Millhouse Divided. I always that episode was about “Can I Borrow a Feeling?” but you’re right, its focal point is him getting fired. It’s a shame we don’t get to see more of Kirk Van Houten. He’s a character they could do a LOT more with.
Omg Roseannic origin point
yeah man that was the shit
would yall ever consider doing a viewing club??
i fuckin would!!!

The heart was for the copy, the restack was for the shirts, and this comment is for you.

“I don’t recall saying good luck” lmao
This was sooooo good!
Inspired by this piece I have been ranting and raving to my partner all afternoon about old Simpson’s episodes - thank you!
I will never forget how hard I laughed watching Homer fall down that cliff, stopping for a sec here, having a skateboard land on his head there.
It was 30+ years ago, and my ribs may still hurt.
